O Juno Awards, em mais um ano, vai homenagear o artista canadense Shawn Mendes. A cateoria na qual o cantor será premiado tem como objetivo reconhecer os profissionais da música pelo seu desempenho no ramo.
Vale lembrar que o evento acontece no dia 15 de maio, em Ontário no Canadá. Para os fãs que desejam assistir ao prêmio, basta acessar o canal oficial do YouTube do Juno Awards.
“Receber esse prêmio será um momento surreal. Ser reconhecido por meu trabalho não apenas no Canadá, mas ao redor do mundo, é uma honra tremenda e eu estou lisonjeado em me juntar a um grupo de artistas extraordinários que ajudaram a colocar a música canadense no mapa", afirmou o popstar.
Essa será a 9ª vez que um artista recebe a honraria nos 51 anos de história do Juno Awards.
Assim que receber a estatueta, Shawn se torará o músico mais jovem a ser condecorado com o International Achievement Award. Neste ano, ele se junatrá a nomes como Arcade Fire, Céline Dion, Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain e Drake - os quais também já se tornaram recebedores da honraria.
"Acho que todo mundo tem um momento em que decide que é hora de fazer algo diferente. Agora, a espiritualidade é uma parte da minha vida que é muito maior do que eu realmente deixo transparecer", ressaltou Mendes.
